HYMN TO THE UNIVERSE

Is there the time to walk these city streets
Is there still the time for me and you

Watch all these city lights as they mix together

Turn the sky all the colours of a bruise

Man and a woman walk a mysterious distance

Between the truth and what it seems

He’ll miss the days you used to look at him that way

Oh, how I miss the way you used to look at me

Chorus:

So I start to wonder can love turn as hard as hate

So I start to wonder does this heart beat hard to hurt

Then I look across at you and this city lights you up

Like God’s Hymn to the Universe

Is there the time to talk to you tonight

Is there the time to tell me what to say

The more you try to pull things closer

The further you will push them all away

Sometimes these days play heavy on my shoulders

Sometimes that couldn’t be further from the truth

Do you remember this time, last time we were here

The city looked so bright so god damn beautiful

Chorus

Middle 8/Break:

“Lay down under here,

Before you fall to pieces”

But you’re so strange and so beautiful

An original of the species

And I know there’s no reason why

But I have got to believe

Outro:

So I start to wonder…. Does love turn as hard as hate

I start to wonder ….. does this heart beat hard to hurt

Then I look at you… and the city lights you up

Like God’s Hymn…..….. to the universe.
